Khatu Shyam Ji Temple in Sikar District of Rajasthan

I visited this place in Nov 20222 at early morning at 7 am, this place is full of energy and everyone is blessed with the aura, bliss and energy of almighty Khat Shyam Ji (worshipped in the form of Lord Krishna).

This location was inspired by the mythology of Barbareek, a fearless warrior and the grandson of Bhima among the Pandavas. According to legend, if he had participated in the epic Battle of Mahabharat, he would have destroyed both the Kaurava and Pandava sides. But Lord Krishna intervened and granted him the boon that he would be known throughout the world as Shyam (another name of Lord Krishna).
The floral decorations around the Lord are unique and interesting. The Kund (Shyam Sarovar) is about 100 metres away from the temple and was the original meeting place of Lord Krishna and Barbareek (Khatu Shyam Ji).

The dip in holy well "Shyam Sarovar" is must in morning before going for Darshan of Baba Khatu Shyam Ji.

History of Khatu Shyam Baba Temple, Barbarik temple

Khatu Shyam Baba took on the form of "Barbarik" during the Mahabharata, the grandson of Maharaj Bhima and Ghatovacchak. Barbarik had always been a fearless and powerful warrior. Seeing Barbarik's force skill, Agni Dev bestowed a special bow on him, and Lord Shiva bestowed three arrows as a boon. Barbarians became known as "three arrows" as a result of this boon. Barbaric expressed his desire to become a war witness after witnessing the fierce battle of the Mahabharata. He let his mother go to war and used all three arrows to fight in the war.

When the barbarians were about to go to war, Lord Shri Krishna told them to study because no one could win the battle with only three arrows.
Barberik explained the significance of the three arrows, saying that his first arrow will mark the fixed places, while the secondand third arrows can safely secure and destroy those places.

Because of Barbarik's boon, both the Kauravas and the Pandavas wanted to keep them in their favour. Then, in the form of a Brahmin, Lord Krishna demanded his head and gave it to Barbarik. Barbaric requested that they come to him in their true form due to this strange request. Then Shri Krishna appeared and told Barbarik, the most heroic and Kshatriya warrior in that war, that the sacrifice of the most heroic and Kshatriya warrior in the battle is very important. As a result, upon hearing his such promise, Barbriak severed his head and presented it to Shri Krishna as a gift. Then Lord Shri Krishna saw his wonderful gift and bestowed upon him the blessing that he will be known throughout the entire world.

Importance of Khatu Shyam Temple

Lord Krishna dedicated the barbaryak's head to the river Rupvati at the end of the war. Then in Kaliyug, Khatu Shyam Mandir was established in Phalgun month after the dream of the king of Khatu village and the wonders surrounding the Shyam Kund. On the 11th day of Shukla Masat, the Khatu Baba was installed in that temple. In 1720 AD, Deewan Abhayasinh rebuilt this temple and since then the glow of that temple is still alive. The recognition of Shyam Kund is in the country and abroad. It is believed that the devotees who take a shower in this pool, their every wish is fulfilled. Recognition of this temple has been the highest in Baba's many temples.
